LOCATION

Ashford Castle is located on the northern shores of Lough Corrib in the village of Cong on the borders of Co. Galway and Co. Mayo. Cong is a small village famous for its 12th century abbey and its association with John Wayne’s classic movie, The Quiet Man. Lough Corrib is one of the most famous fisheries in Ireland and the best fishing can be found on Lough Corrib during the Mayfly Hatch each May and June.

CONNEMARA

The hotel is located at the edge of Connemara which is one of the most scenic regions in Ireland. Its craggy mountain peaks, expansive sandy beaches and network of lakes exemplify the peaceful solitude and rugged beauty of the west of Ireland. Dominated by the Twelve Bens mountain range, dotted with lakes and fringed by the Atlantic coastline, Connemara is one of Ireland’s most popular and memorable touring areas.
