Who are Bellway? Bellway Homes is a Plc national housebuilder, with a local division based in Ringwood, Hampshire. It has undertaken a number of local developments in Hampshire, West Sussex, Wiltshire and Dorset and builds in excess of 500 homes a year. Bellway Homes takes community relations seriously and are keen to bring forward an appropriate form of development to create a place that people want to live.
What is proposed? Bellway Homes, in partnership with Homes England are proposing to bring forward and deliver the first phase of this allocated site with 207 new homes. Tipner East has been a residential allocation in the Portsmouth Local Plan since its adoption in 2012 and is identified for redevelopment with at least 480 homes. Tipner East forms part of the wider regeneration area which includes Tipner West. Planning Policy requires that 30% of the homes will be provided as affordable homes. The Tipner East allocation already benefits from planning permission for over 530 new homes across various consents.
Next steps We are seeking your views and feedback into the process prior to the refinement of the scheme before submission of a full planning application to Portsmouth City Council later this year. Bellway Homes have also been carrying out pre-application discussions with Portsmouth City Council as well as undertaking an independent Design Review process. We value your opinions and they will be considered and summarised within the application submission documents to Portsmouth City Council.
